Attorney at Law

About

Honesty. Integrity. Compassion.

History

Founded in 2018, this solo boutique firm is led by Ben Willis with a supporting network of colleagues capable of handling even the most specialized matters. With his wife Samantha serving as support staff, we’re a true family business you can trust to assist with your family business.

In 2020, Ben moved to his family farm of 25 years in order to manage a Tidal Wetland Mitigation Bank on-site. Environmental services have been the focus of our practice ever since, and we offer these services across the Commonwealth. General rural counsel is also available for any county. Litigation services are limited to Accomack, Northampton, and the Eastern District of Virginia.

Founder

Benjamin J. Willis

After a few years in a firm, Ben bucked the modern trend and hung his shingle in order to better serve the rural areas that he’s always been proud to call home. The practice of law is no less important or prestigious just because it involves rural issues or citizens. Still, many people ask, “Why would you want to move to the Eastern Shore? There’s nothing to do here.” For Ben, it’s because the Eastern Shore retains its rural character at a time when his hometown in Suffolk, like many towns in Virginia, has urbanized to the point of being unrecognizable. Yes, there are tradeoffs here, but there’s not enough money in the world to convince Ben that life would be better lived somewhere like Norfolk or Richmond.
